Amazon Basics 131-Piece Household Tool Set
This 131-piece set is built for the everyday fixes that come up around a home — hanging a shelf, tightening a hinge, assembling furniture — without needing to buy tools one at a time as each job comes up. Everything sits in a labeled, cut-out compartment inside a portable carrying case, so nothing gets lost in a drawer.

This is a curated recommendation, not a personally tested review. We select products based on research into their design and practical use.
Why We Picked It
We like sets with a molded case and individual compartments over a loose bag of tools, since it makes it obvious at a glance if something didn't get put back after a project.
Who It Could Work Well For
First-time homeowners or renters building a basic tool kit, or anyone tired of borrowing a neighbor's tools for small fixes.
Pros
- 131 pieces cover most everyday repairs without buying tools individually
- Portable case with organized compartments keeps everything in one place
- A practical option for a first tool kit or a gift for a new homeowner
Things to Consider
- A general household set like this isn't a substitute for specialized tools a larger project might need
- Check the case latches periodically if it gets moved or stored somewhere it could get knocked around
Organization Tips
- Do a quick inventory check after each use so pieces go back in their labeled slot before the case is put away
- Keep the case somewhere accessible (a hall closet, not the garage) if it's meant for quick everyday fixes rather than big projects
