A small pantry doesn't need to feel cramped. Most pantry frustration comes from items being stacked without a system, rather than from an actual lack of space. A few adjustments can make even a narrow pantry function well.
Add a second shelf tier where you can
Many pantry shelves have unused vertical space above shorter items like canned goods or spice jars. An expandable shelf creates a second tier in that space, which can meaningfully increase storage without adding a new shelf.
Decant into uniform, stackable containers
Bags of rice, pasta, and snacks come in odd shapes that don't stack well. Moving them into stackable, clear bins makes better use of shelf height and makes it much easier to see what you have.
Stackable Clear Storage Bins
Clear sides make it easy to find what you need without opening every bin on the shelf.
Keep frequently used items at eye level
Reserve the easiest-to-reach shelves for items you use most often, and push occasional-use items to the top or bottom shelves.
Group by category, not by size
Organizing by category (baking, snacks, canned goods, breakfast) rather than by container size makes it easier to find things and notice when you're running low.
A small pantry organized around visibility and categories can often hold just as much as a larger, disorganized one — and it's much easier to keep tidy day to day.
